PLANNING FROM INDIA

Choose a route that fits your purpose.

Compare the evidence, cost and next step for each route before paying for a course, job offer or immigration package.

Official sources · Clear costs · No guaranteed outcomes
There is no single “best” route for every Indian applicant.

A genuine job offer, academic goal, eligible qualification, business proposition or family relationship leads to a different assessment. Lower cost does not replace eligibility.

Skilled Worker

An eligible job with a licensed employer. Check the occupation, salary, English requirement and exact offer before applying.

A sponsor licence alone does not mean the employer will sponsor your role.

Student

For an eligible course, a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies and the required finances and English evidence.

Permission depends on your course and conditions. Students cannot normally be self-employed or run a business.

India Young Professionals Scheme

A ballot-based route for eligible Indian citizens aged 18–30, with a qualifying degree and required savings.

Selection is not guaranteed. A route being listed here does not mean a ballot is open.

High Potential Individual

For eligible recent graduates of universities on the qualifying list for their graduation year. A job offer is not required.

Your university, award and graduation date must qualify. A UK degree is not eligible for this route.

Global Talent

For leaders or potential leaders in specified research, arts and digital technology fields, through the relevant endorsement or eligible prize pathway.

A strong CV alone does not establish eligibility; evidence must meet the route's specific requirements.

Innovator Founder

For a new business idea assessed by an approved endorsing body as innovative, viable and scalable.

Ordinary company registration is insufficient. Business funding, personal maintenance and endorsement costs are separate.

A sensible order for your decision

  1. Write down your actual purpose, qualifications, English evidence, work history and available budget.
  2. Check routes whose published conditions fit that evidence. The Young Professionals ballot is competitive, and a listed university must match the HPI graduation-year list.
  3. For study, verify the institution and exact course, recognition, entry requirements, CAS process and international fees.
  4. Calculate total costs without assuming a part-time job, scholarship, future sponsorship or settlement.
  5. Check current application requirements, any TB or ATAS requirement, dependants and the official application service before paying.

Make your next step an informed one.
